******CAPTURED****** John Wesley Tubb John Wesley Tubb was taken into custody Sunday morning by Huntsville PD.

At approximately 20:45 last date, 911 dispatchers received a call of shots fired at a residence at the intersection of Dallas Loop Road and State Hwy 79. Deputies were on the scene within just a few minutes of being dispatched. At that time, it was determined that shots had been fired from across the highway towards the residence. Deputies were not fired upon and did not discharge any weapons. A Perimeter was quickly established around the area and the suspect was identified. The suspect was able to get outside of the perimeter and called a friend to pick him up. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle was spotted and a traffic stop was attempted. The suspect refused to stop and fled down Highway 79 south towards Jefferson County. During the pursuit, the suspect wrecked the vehicle at the intersection of Narrows Road & New Castle Road and fled on foot into the woods. Multiple K-9 units as well as drone technology were used to track the suspect and another perimeter was established. At approximately 07:30 on this date, the suspect, (Jerico D. Parker) was taken into custody without incident and is now being held at the Blount County Jail. Formal charges are pending. Sheriff Loyd Arrington would like to sincerely thank all agencies that assisted in this team effort. Sheriff Loyd Arrington and the Blount County Sheriff’s Office are pleased to announce that we are now live with our new Digital Pistol Permit system. Effective 3/1/2018, there will no longer be any pistol permits issued on paper. All permits are now issued on a photo card, similar to your driver’s license and the cost will remain the same. We are also excited to announce that you can now pay by credit card. You can still pay by cash or check also. The application process has changed as well. You can still come into the office and fill out an application but everything is now done online via a secured website. This also means that you can fill out the application from your computer or smart phone 24 hours a day. The link to the site is listed below. This new system will be great for the county as well as the Sheriff’s Office and we welcome you to try it out. As with all new systems, there may be some small issues in the beginning, we simply ask that you be patient with us and contact us with any issues or questions that you may have. Thank you and have a blessed day. As always, call us if you need us.
