We at Stuttgart PD would like to address a serious concern that has been brought to our attention. Several women have made social media posts stating that they have been approached by 3-4 Hispanic or Middle Eastern males on Walmart parking lot. They further stated that they were acting in a suspicious manner as if they were trying to get close to them or would follow them. We have not actually had a call come in to the PD reporting this but the information was forwarded from several different sources. For everyone's safety PLEASE BE AWARE of YOUR SURROUNDINGS. We do not want anyone to get hurt, robbed or abducted. If you see someone or a group of individuals standing around a vehicle or sitting in a vehicle as if observing people, the ladies or young girls in particular, PLEASE Call the Police right then! Let us come check the people out. It's better to be safe than sorry in today's world in which we live. If you think someone is following you to your vehicle call 911 and scream for help, cause a loud scene to draw attention to yourself or turn around and run back in the store where there are other people. Walmart has staff in store and cameras in place which could quickly help us identify the bad guys.

We had our dessert before our supper tonight and it was yummy!! Thanks to Tracy Otis for braving the rain to feed us!!

ASP PRESS RELEASE March 06, 2018 Special Agents with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division have been requested to assist the Stuttgart Police Department in the investigation of a deadly shooting that occurred at approximately 7:30 yesterday evening (Monday, March 5th), leaving one person dead and another seriously injured. According to initial statements, Natasha Russell, 21, of Stuttgart was the driver of a vehicle that entered the intersection of McKinley and Lowe Streets in Stuttgart. Upon entering the intersection, an unknown number of male individuals started shooting towards her vehicle. Two passengers within the vehicle were hit by the gunfire. Robert Brown, 46, of Pine Bluff was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. His body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the exact cause and manner of death. Kevin Harvey, 56, of Stuttgart was transported to a Little Rock Hospital with critical injuries. The investigation is continuing.

The Stuttgart Police Department has received numerous calls & Facebook messages in reference to a facebook post by a user ‘Ray Andres’. The post references potential school violence to a “SHS”. While we take these threats very seriously, it has been reported the origination of the post to be in Kentucky. There are news articles and social media post from all over the country today about this post. We do not believe this to be a credible threat to our school system. The School resource officer, Police and school officials are aware of the incident. I have attached screenshots of the threatening posts along with the posts from other agencies across to country about it just so there is no confusions about what I’m explaining. We will take necessary measures to ensure the safety of our school children and staff. Thanks, Lt. Mark Duke

Just so everyone knows there are officers inside the schools and officers watching over the drop offs and entrances. You may not see them but they see you. If you are interested in volunteering your time to your child’s school or any school for that matter please contact that schools administrator and see what you can do. WatchDog Dad’s, Reading to the youngsters, crossing guards, help monitor the front doors, drop-offs and bus stops...there’s plenty of room for volunteers. Let’s all make our schools safe.

Please join us on Friday, February 9, as we honor one of our own, Assistant Chief Steven Bobo. We’ll be gathering in the courtroom here at Stuttgart Police Dept from 2:00 until 3:30. Everyone come out and wish him well in his new adventure!!
