Crossett Police Department News

Good Afternoon Everyone, You may notice a new look at the Crossett Police Department for the month of November. This year, we will participate in "No Shave November", in which officers will make a donation and be allowed to grow a neatly groomed beard. 100% of the donations will be used to sponsor local children for the Angel Tree Project. We have learned that more and more law enforcement agencies in Arkansas are participating in similar fundraisers, donating to charities of their choice. I would also like input from the public about your opinion of officers having beards. Does it look professional, should police officers have them, etc. Please keep comments polite, no swearing, arguing, etc. Lets make this fun since it is for such a great cause. Thank you!!

If you know a dispatcher, take the time to thank them for all that they do. They are the voice that you hear when you are in need.

Crossett Dispatch and Ashley County Sheriff Department Dispatch. We can’t thank you all enough!

On April 9, 2018 at approximately 12:20 pm the Crossett Police Department was notified of a Snapchat message with a threat against "CHS." We immediately began investigating and notified the FBI and Arkansas State Police. At approximately 12:51 pm we were notified by a Special Agent with the Arkansas State Police that the incident originated in Clovis, New Mexico and against Clovis High School. We called Clovis, New Mexico PD and verified this information, as well as their press release on their Facebook page. The Snapchat threat was against them and not against Crossett High School. We take any and all threats against the Crossett School District seriously, and investigate thoroughly. We want the citizens of Crossett to know that the threat was not against Crossett High School. We will share the link to Clovis PD Facebook page for everyone to see. We would like to thank everyone for their assistance in this matter.

All city offices are open today!

Good morning! City Hall will be closed today. Please drive careful. If you don’t have to be out in this weather, we are asking that you please stay inside.
