It is always a great day when we get to introduce a new member of our department. Today Patrolman Jason Cooper was sworn in as a member of the Alma Police Department! Note: The position we advertised recently is still open, applications must be turned in by September 30th.

The Alma Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Anyone interested in being considered for this position can pickup an application at the Alma Police Department or download the application off of the Alma City website, linked below. In order for you application to be considered, it must be completed and turned in no later than September 30, 2018.

These two may have to ties to the Crawford County / Alma area. If you have any information about their whereabouts contact the Yell County Sheriff's Office.

Our Officers were surprised this morning with a special thank you from our friends at Kibler Baptist Church. Thank you KBC, you brought some smiles to some faces today.

We are proud of our School Resource Officers.

***Please Share**** The Alma Police Department received a call of a child being abducted from a bus stop this morning, 8/20/2018. The child is safe. The investigation has led us to believe at this point no abduction occurred and no suspect is at large.

We had such a great time at Crawford County National Night Out. Make sure to go over to their page to check out all the photos.

Officer Shawn Taylor and Officer Jeremy Caldwell were honored by The American Legion tonight. They were awarded for “Outstanding Public Service Benefiting Our Community, State and Nation.” Our Officers take great pride in serving this community.

It is always a big day in our department when we have a promotion. Today we had two! Congratulations to now Captain Jeff Pointer and Lieutenant Brett Hartley for their dedication to the citizens of Alma. Thank you to all of our guest that joined us to celebrate their promotion.

He is suspected of using stolen credit card information to make purchases in Alma, Sallisaw and Van Buren. He was in the silver car that is also pictured. ***Public Notice, Please Share*** The Alma Fire Department will be inspecting and possibly conducting a controlled burn on areas of the Alma Lake Dam tonight. This is in preparation for the upcoming Mayor’s Celebration and Fireworks Display on July 3rd. This will be done after Alma Aquatic Park hours.
