More arrest to come from the burglary that occurred on the 11th of this month this is the only one of the few suspects that has been arrested at this time. We will have more suspects arrested and charged. Also arrested was Veronica Crumley that was charged with Theft by Receiving. Thanks to all the officers involved in the investigation.

I want to tell Cherry Valley Police Department's Officer Sean Patterson very good job on your arrest tonight of Holbrook Mitchell for the multiple FELONY drug offenses and other numerous misdemeanor charges. I also want to say a thank you to the assistance of Deputy Clanton, Deputy Mitleff, and also Trooper David West. A job well done guys and I cant praise you enough!!! The police department is needing help in two thefts where someone stole copper wire from behind the old fire department and also at the water plant!! Any information will be kept confidential. Please contact the Cherry Valley Police Department with any information. One theft occurred sometime around December 1st and again sometime between January 17th and 18th.

On December 21, 2017 at our end of the year department meeting. Corporal Gaylon Payton was given the award of Officer of the Year for his hard dedicated work to the Cherry Valley Police Department. Corporal Payton has made numerous felony drug arrest including meth, marijuana, and cocaine. He also during the arrest recovered numerous firearms while the subjects were transporting the drugs through Cherry Valley. If you see Corporal Payton out and about please congratulate him for his hard work. He is a big asset to the department!!! Thank you Corporal Payton for your hard work!!!

Reminder the Cherry Valley Christmas Parade will be Monday December 11, starting at 7 pm. The parade will start at the Cherry Valley Baptist Church and go up Hwy 42 towards Hwy 1. Immediately after the parade there will be a Christmas Tree lighting at the Cherry Valley Fire Station. Christmas carols will be lead by The Church of God out of Harrisburg. After the carols and tree lighting we will open up the fire station for the kids to visit with Santa and activities. THERE WILL BE NO TRAIN RIDE, we just choose the POLAR EXPRESS as the theme for this year. WE WILL BE THROWING OUT CANDY AS WELL!!!!

Cross County District Court - Cherry Valley Division will participate in Warrant Amnesty Week, Dec. 12-16. Those with outstanding warrants such as Failure to Pay or Failure to Appear can come by the Police Department at 166 Highway 1B, during next week to have a Court Date set for January. Once a date is set they can appear on the charge and will not go to Jail. Warrant fees will be waived as well.
