Stead fled from officers on foot and during that pursuit he ran onto the campus of the Hot Springs Intermediate School. Several officers were already on the campus when this occurred. Stead was quickly taken into custody for several felony warrants. Stead has been charged with 3 counts of Residential Burglary, 3 counts of Theft under $1000.00, Breaking or Entering, Criminal Attempt at Residential Burglary, felony Criminal Mischief and Fleeing. This week our dispatch center received a new 911 upgrade. The upgrade has several advantages such as calls are delivered faster, the system has an easier interface which assists our operators and an integrated mapping system that speeds up our ability to locate callers. All of these upgrades will help us provide a quick detailed response to our community.

We are ready for Boo with the Badge! We have the treats ready and we are excited to see everyone there. The central Arkansas area is seeing an increase of skimming devices being used. Skimmers can be placed on ATM's, gas pumps and even on in store type card readers. Please take the time to check where your card is scanned or swiped. A skimmer generally will be flimsy or pop off. By taking a few seconds to double check, you can save yourself from being a victim of fraud. Please share and help spread the word.

Check out the deer on Tom Ellsworth Drive this afternoon. Ofc. Lowrey came across these deer having lunch. Remember with the cooler weather, the deer are on the move. Keep and eye out and remember if you have an accident involving one, you need to make a report. Have a great day and drive safe.
