Hey everyone, I wanted to let you know that there was a miscommunication with the Police Department and the Madison County Record on the job opportunity in the paper this week. The Office Assistant job was filled and it should have been the Patrol Officers position that was posted. The Madison County Record will retract the post in next weeks issue and post the correct Patrol Officers job opening. We will also move the date the applications need to be turned in by to July 5th, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. Sorry for any confusion.
So we had a little bear visit the City of Huntsville yesterday and today. Game and Fish was notified and advised us to leave it be and he or she would move on. The cub decided to climb a tree about 100 ft yesterday near Lee Ave and sleep in the tree over night until today when he or she came down, climbed another tree then made his or her way back into the woods. No one at anytime during the visit was in any danger but we got some good photo's to share.

**** SCAM ALERT **** The Huntsville Police Department has had several call-ins regarding a scam targeting the elderly people! The scam is called in as followed; One of their grandchildren will call and state that they are in jail and needing bond money for "X" amount. When you answer the phone the "grandchild" obviously doesn't sound like your "grandchild", so they'll use the excuse that their sick or they've been crying. They will then state, a bondsman, a lawyer, an attorney, or someone of higher authority in the jail will call them back with instructions on how to send the money via, money grams, western union, etc. Usually, they wont have you send it directly to the town or even the area where your "grandchild" is in jail. THEY ARE TARGETING THE GRANDPARENTS, ESPECIALLY THE ELDERLY ONES! They are also using random numbers, private numbers, and even blocked numbers. Obviously, not all the elders have facebook, so please let them know whats going on! If you have even the slightest uneasy feeling, IT'S PROBABLY A SCAM! Please call in to your local Police Department or Sheriff's Office and, to some extent, we can see if your family member is in jail! Please no send ANY money! We can not get the money back for you!
