BRADY WAS SEEN EARLIER TODAY IN THE FOUNTAIN LAKE AREA, WHEN WORD GOT OUT ON SOCIAL MEDIA THAT HE HAD BEEN SPOTTED HOT SPRINGS LAW ENFORCEMENT STARTED SEARCHING THE AREA AND WERE ABLE TO LOCATE BRADY AND TAKE HIM INTO CUSTODY. PACKAGE THIEVES The Bryant Police Department has received calls regarding missing packages over the last several days. However, an eyewitness and video surveillance has now given us a big lead on the identity of one of the suspects but were asking the public’s help in finding him. The pictures show 38-year-old Harvey Gene Brady of Bryant in a silver Ford F150 pull up to a house just moments after a UPS delivery truck left a package at the home, he walks to the front door and steals the package. He is suspected in stealing packages all over Saline County so we want to get this individual off the street. On October 11, 2018, the Bryant Police Department received information regarding some recent vehicle Breaking and Entering’s and Thefts. The information led investigators to four local juveniles that were involved in the thefts. Two of the juveniles were taken into custody at a bus stop in the Bryant area and were in possession of stolen firearms. All four juveniles were not in school yesterday so there were NO guns taken to school. The juveniles were brought to the Bryant PD along with parents where they were questioned regarding the thefts. Following the questioning, two of the juveniles were transported to lockup in Pine Bluff and the other two were released to their parents. The ages run from 14 to 17 years of age, therefore names cannot be released. They were all charged with the following: Two were charged with Possession of Stolen Firearm All were charged with multiple counts of B & E, Theft of Property and Theft by Receiving. They were all turned over to the Juvenile Courts. The guns were taken from unlocked vehicles. This is another reminder for people to please do not leave firearms or other valuables in your car and always lock your vehicle.

We have completed another fantastic Citizens Police Academy. I had the honor and privilege to get to know each of these fine individuals. We had a lot of fun and I hope that they were able to take something away from everything that was taught. I want to thank each and every one of them for taking time out of their busy lives and coming out to experience this and be willing to take on the challenges. Stay safe!! Sgt. Todd Crowson

On 9/18/2018, the Bryant Police Department School Resource Officers were called to investigate an incident, which had occurred earlier in the day. On this same day, a student, Cornelious Smith 18 years of age, was seen on video grabbing another student, a 17-year-old female, in the Bryant High School parking lot and choking her until she fell to the ground unconscious. Two school administrators are seen in the video walking up on the incident just after she fell to the ground. She was taken to the school nurse for evaluation.
