Taser/Accident Investigation/Encounter Night

SCSO has several events upcoming. Thursday, 10-25-18, at 1:00 pm, SCSO will be having employment testing. Prospective candidates should bring their driver’s license, a copy of their high school diploma, Social Security card, and a copy of their birth certificate. Candidates should wear clothing suitable for an agility test. There will also be a written test. Any citizen over 18 years of age is encouraged to come and test. A criminal background check will be performed. The testing will be for positions in Adult and Juvenile Detention Divsions. Saturday, 10-27-18, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, SCSO and Barling Police Department will be co-hosting Drug Take Back at the Barling Police Department, 304 Church Street. Any unwanted and unused medications will be accepted. The medications will be collected and sent to DEA for proper destruction. This Take Back site will be a part of a national effort to get prescription drugs safely gathered and destroyed. Captain Pevehouse, representatives from Fort Smith Kiwanis and the Sheriff’s Office helped fill bags at the Community Services Clearinghouse’s MEALS FOR KIDS Backpack Program. The MEAL FOR KIDS Backpack Program provides weekend meals for over 2.800 children per week in our seven county area. The Community Services Clearinghouse is selling t-shirts (pictured) as a fundraiser. 100% of the proceeds will go towards the Backpack Program. Lt. Wyatt McIntyre takes a moment to smile with tennis legend Andre Agassi. Agassi was the keynote speaker for the 3rd Annual Play for Luke Tennis Event in Fort Smith, Arkansas! The Play for Luke Tennis Event began in 2016 as a fundraiser to help the Siegel family with expenses related to their son Luke’s brain injury. The 2018 Play for Luke Tennis Event benefits Team Luke Hope for Minds and provides resources to assist families like the Siegels with financial assistance, educational tools and emotional support.
