Hurricane Rosa rapidly intensified into a major hurricane Thursday afternoon and is now a Category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Rapid intensification is defined as an increase in maximum sustained winds of at least 35 mph in 24 hours or less. The moisture from what is now Hurricane Rosa will bring rain to the desert Southwest next week. The system could bring a flash flood threat to the area. More Information:

CCSO SWAT EXECUTES SEARCH WARRANT FOR STREET CRIMES UNIT IN DOUGLAS On Monday September 24, 2018, Cochise County Sheriff's Office Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) executed a search warrant for illegal drugs for the CCSO Street Crimes Unit at a residence at the 1000 Block of N Florida Ave, Douglas, AZ. The main suspect, Marco Serrano, 60 years of age, and a Douglas resident, has been a suspect in a previous drug investigation leading to a search warrant in 2017. Serrano was arrested in late 2017 for his involvement in the prior case and was out on bond at the time of this current case. Amounts of Heroin and Crack Cocaine were located in the residence, along with packaging materials and other items of drug paraphernalia. Serrano was charged with ARS 13-3408A1, Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Felony ARS 13-3408A4, Possession/Sale of Narcotic Drugs, 4 counts, Felony ARS 13-3421B, Fortification of Building to Sell Narcotics, Felony ARS 13-3421A, Use of a Building to Sell Narcotics, Felony ARS 13-3405A1, Possession of Marijuana, Felony ARS 13-3415A, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 14 Counts, Felony Serrano is being held without bond at the Cochise County Jail, Bisbee.
