In partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), we will properly dispose of all medications in a way that is safe for the community members and the environment. ROADWAY CLOSURE UPDATE: Thank you all for your patience during this mornings police investigation near Tegner and Wickenburg Way. Tegner Street is now open. At approximately 6:30am on Tuesday October 9th, a passerby noticed a subject lying on the sidewalk near a vacant building on the southwest corner of Tegner Street and East Wickenburg Way. WPD responded and located the subject who was deceased. The subject, a white male, approximately 45 years of age, appeared to have suffered a medical issue while riding his bicycle. There were no signs of any foul play. The male has been identified, however, police are still attempting to locate any relatives. The roadway was closed for several hours to vehicular and pedestrian traffic while officers investigated. Wickenburg Unified School District buses were rerouted for the morning drop off. WPD thanks the community for their patience and understanding.

ROAD CLOSURE! Tegner Street, from Wickenburg Way south to Cochise, has been temporarily closed due to a police investigation. There is NO THREAT to Hassayampa Elementary School, local residents or businesses. We will advise when the road is reopened. Thank you for your patience.

There will be a National Wireless Emergency Alert Test Wednesday October 3rd at 11:18 am MST and Emergency Alert System Test at 11:20 am MST. That means your cell phone will alert you about the test and a couple minutes later you will hear the same test via television/radio. Please do not panic, this will only be a test!

Arrests made on stolen ATV's!

Police activity in the area of Turtleback Mountain: WPD is currently searching for a subject in the desert area south of Turtleback Mountain. The subject is related to a stolen vehicle call earlier this evening. There is no immediate danger to the public. Residents may see a helicopter above the area assisting officers on the ground attempting to locate the subject. Again, please do not be alarmed. Updates will be provided as they are available.

Highway 93 was closed northwest of Wickenburg due to a collision. The northbound lane is still restricted, however, traffic is moving in both directions but very slowly. Please use caution if you are traveling that direction or take an alternate route.

Media Release: Unsubstantiated Report of an Attempted Abduction

Good Thursday morning! As of 5:30am, the Hassayampa River continues to flow across Scenic Loop Road and Rincon Road. Please do not attempt to cross flooded roadways. TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN!

As of 10:30pm, Rincon Road and Scenic Loop Road are heavily flooded at the Hassayampa River and are NOT passable by vehicle. STAY OUT OF FLOODED AREAS!

Heavy rainfall has occurred over the past three hours in the southern Yavapai County towns of Congress, Yarnell and Peeples Valley. This will most likely cause flooding in the Hassayampa River. Take caution if driving on Scenic Loop, Rincon Road and Jack Burden Road in the next few hours. Updates will be posted. Stay out of flooded roadways and washes!!!
