The suspect purported to be an employee of Clarkdale Police Department and told the reporting party that she had a warrant and needed to pay it. Caller ID spoofing is when a caller deliberately falsifies the information transmitted to your caller ID display to disguise their identity. Spoofing is often used as part of an attempt to trick someone into giving away valuable personal information so it can be used in fraudulent activity or sold illegally, but also can be used legitimately, for example, to display the toll-free number for a business. We would like to reassure the public that employees of the Clarkdale Police Department are not calling citizens to solicit money for warrant payments or otherwise. If you receive a call like this, please report it to the Clarkdale Police Department at 928-634-2921 or to your local jurisdiction. Additionally, you can file a complaint with the FCC. If you have any questions, please contact Sgt. Florisi at 928-649-7700. Additional information will be posted on the Town of Clarkdale website at http://www.clarkdale.az.gov when it becomes available. ###

The remnants of Rosa will produce significant weather over the southwestern US through early Wednesday. Expect showers and thunderstorms to increase later today into tonight. Deeper moisture will arrive on Monday and Tuesday as the remnants of Rosa move inland resulting in a period of moderate to heavy rainfall. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for a large portion of northern Arizona from late Monday morning through early Wednesday morning. Outdoor activities are not recommended especially tonight through early Wednesday.

Sgt. Florisi attended the Step Up AZ 2018 Summit this week in Tempe. The conference focus is decriminalization of mental illness. She attended the conference in a blended role of sergeant for Clarkdale PD and therapist at Spectrum Healthcare. We have a great relationship with Spectrum Healthcare as well as other agencies from Yavapai County. Decriminalization of mental illness can be a challenging road for all of us to navigate. Community partnerships are crucial when tackling something of this magnitude.
These two girls were found in the area of Sycamore and Tuzigoot in Clarkdale. We are looking for the owners. The black and tan girl is a puppy around 6 mos old.
