After years of hard work and dedication, it’s time to take a PERMANENT VACATION! The Sun is Setting on a Long and Successful Career…and Rising on a Leisurely Retirement. Today we say Farewell to our Undersheriff Todd James. Undersheriff James began his career with Glenn County as a Jailer in 1983, and in September of 1987 was promoted to the rank of Deputy Sheriff. Over the course of his long career, Undersheriff James has worked in the Major Crimes division, on the Narcotics Task Force, served as a Sergeant, and finally as Undersheriff. He has worked all aspects of our department, from Animal Control, to Civil, the Jail and Patrol, and everything in between. It wasn’t uncommon for him to occasionally step in to dispatch when things got busy or someone needed a break. All of this he did with a charm and good humor that will never be matched, and we will all miss his boisterous good mornings, his “breakfast popcorn,” and his ability to bring a smile to our faces. Thank you, Undersheriff, for all you’ve done for our county and our department. Please join us in congratulating him on his retirement—he’s earned it!

Water rescue and dive training is conducted to ensure the CalFire and Sheriff personnel are trained and ready to respond during an emergency. Joint training allows us to work together just as we would in a real response. Water rescue training is especially important as we move into the rainy season and flooding becomes more of a hazard. Did you know that Sheriff's Office has a boating unit and a dive team to patrol and respond on our many natural waterways in #GlennCounty Today's training at Stony Gorge Reservoir included over 30 participants from our office and CalFire Tehama-Glenn Unit. Safety is the overriding objective with these trainings. There are many moving parts to the scenarios but all are overseen by an Incident Management Team and onsite safety response team. Thank you to CalFire Tehama Glenn Unit for hosting this exercise! #Glennprepares #OES #Glenncountysheriff
