An initiative of the Anaheim Police Department is to assist the community in post-incident recovery. Tonight we are meeting with the community regarding last Thursday’s homicide at Chaparral Park. The suspect in the homicide is in custody and we are discussing how to prevent crime in their neighborhoods.

On Sunday, as part of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, our APD hockey team played the Orange County Sheriff's Department, CA team at the Honda Center before the Anaheim Ducks game against the San Jose Sharks During the Ducks vs Sharks game, our APD Color Guard presented the flags during the national anthem. #community #hockey

Both directions of Orangewood are closed between Harbor and West due to electrical lines down across lanes. Please avoid the area if you can and call 911 if you see any lines down.

Detectives are on scene of a suspected homicide in the 2100 block of S. Balboa Plaza APD received a call at 0216 hrs of a possible deceased body in a dumpster. Responding Officers confirmed a dead body was in a bag in the dumpster. Gender and condition of body unknown at this time. Reports of dismemberment are NOT confirmed by official sources. Anyone with information is asked to please contact Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS UPDATE: Victim is confirmed to be female. Examination of the body reveals the body is intact and NOT dismembered.

EB and WB Broadway are closed between Manchester and Olive. All NB and SB streets between Lincoln and Santa Ana will be close from 6 pm until 8:30 pm due to the parade.

Around 8:40 am this morning, APD officers were called to an apartment complex at 2205 W Broadway regarding a resident who appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and had assaulted an employee of the complex. Two officers arrived and contacted the suspect. Preliminary information indicates a physical altercation occurred when the officers attempted to arrest the suspect. The officers called for an emergency response of additional officers. When backup arrived, the suspect was taken into custody. A short time later, the suspect went into full cardiac arrest. Officers performed CPR until Anaheim Fire arrived and transported the suspect to the hospital. The suspect is in critical condition, but his prognosis is not known at this time. The first two officers on scene were both seriously injured. Both were transported to UCI with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Based on the seriousness of the injuries, concurrent investigations are being conducted by the APD Homicide Detail, the APD Major Incident Review Team, and the OCDA Special Assignment Unit.

Just after 5 pm on Friday evening 10/26/18, APD and #AnaheimFire&Rescue received calls of a motorcycle v vehicle collision on State College Blvd at Cliffpark. Police and Fire personnel arrived and found a heavy rescue collision with the vehicle overturned. One party was pronounced deceased at the scene and the other party was transported with serious and life-threatening injuries. State College Blvd is closed in both directions between Ball Rd and Vermont Ave. Please avoid the area. Traffic investigators are on scene investigating to determine the cause of the collision. Speed is an obvious factor. Please slow down and #ArriveAlive
