Meet our Dispatch Supervisor, Phil Brotherton!
Where did you grow up?
Stanton Township, Michigan
What do you like about living in Colorado Springs?
I enjoy the beautiful scenery, and riding my motorcycle year-round(nearly)
How long have you been at UCCS?
I started as a student in Fall of 2009, and began working for the Police Department as a student employee in Winter of 2010.
What made you want to become a Police Dispatcher?
I thought that my military background in communications would make me a good fit for a student dispatcher job, while I finished my degree.
What is your favorite part of being a UCCS Police Dispatcher?
The opportunity to help the campus and surrounding community and building relationships with people are my favorite aspects of our job. Every event I attend on campus I seem to meet someone who I have spoken with time and again over my years here and it is always nice to put faces to the voices.
What do you love about working at UCCS?
I love being a part of moving the mission of the campus forward, and helping to make this a safe and friendly place for people to receive an education.
If you had one super power, what would it be?
What is your favorite type of ice cream?
It’s a toss-up between Moose Tracks and Mackinac Island Fudge
What’s a fun fact about yourself?
I was a student employee, a state temporary employee, a student employee, a state permanent employee, and now a university staff employee. All in the same office.
