Rockfall Mitigation Resumes on US 6 Clear Creek Canyon DAYTIME FULL ROAD CLOSURES PLANNED BEGINNING NOVEMBER 13, 2018. For details click this link:

US 6 Clear Creek Canyon Rockfall Project Rockfalls happen regularly in Clear Creek Canyon, ultimately causing closures, accidents, and roadway deterioration. This project aims to address these issues and reduce the overall impact of rockfalls in the canyon. The Project is currently under the summer shut down period. Work will resume November 12, 2018, and will be complete before May 1st, 2019. Full roadway closures will occur From 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Wednesday and from 6am to 5pm on Thursdays once work resumes. Travelers can use I70 as an alternate route to Central City/Black Hawk during the closures of US 6. No work and no road closures are planned for Fridays or weekends. Full roadway closures dramatically increase production, which decreases the duration of the project, and enhances the safety of the traveling public and project personnel.
