Do we read anything that isn't on our phone anymore? We encourage you to look closely at any $100s that you come into contact with. Not that we're all hauling around Benjamins, but if that's your style, please give them a good look. We've heard that some local businesses have inadvertently taken some fake bills, thinking they were the real thing. Clearly marked "fashion prop money" on the front, and "This is a copy money" on the back, the fake bills look pretty real, but only at a glance. One of the better stories was when a well-meaning local, Ray Davile, found $1500 in what looked like $100 bills in an alley. The dirty, wadded up bills looked pretty convincing and he made a beeline to the APD offices, where he turned in what he thought was somebody's cash lost in an alley. Once cleaned up, it too turned out to be this fake cash. We appreciate his honesty, it says a lot about his character. We just wish it was real money! Anyhow, take a moment, break out your wallet and check to make sure your cash isn't "copy money." The Aspen Police Department - Protecting the Wild West since the 1880s.
