The New Canaan Police Department is accepting applications for the Fall 2018 Civilian Police Academy. The academy is a nine session program which will cover a wide variety of law enforcement topics. The application deadline is October 1, 2018. Click below for brochure and application

UPDATE: ALL 3 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SAFELY LOCATED BY NYPD IN MANHATTAN. The New Canaan Police Department is currently investigating a report of 3 missing people, an adult female, Eva Brewer and her children; Jessica Cohen and Arlo Cohen. The individuals were last contacted at approximately 1330 hours on 9/10/18 via phone. The parties are believed to be in New York City or the vicinity. Arlo Cohen is approximately 4’ tall, with brown hair. Jessica Cohen is 5 years old, approximately 3’6” tall with brown hair. The three are believed to have traveled to New York City via a Livery service, and do not have access to vehicles. The New Canaan Police Department is actively working with the NYPD to attempt to locate the parties. On 7/11 at approximately 8:50 PM at the back of South School near Crystal St this off leash dog attacked an on leash dog causing severe injury. The two people with the offending dog left without exchanging information. If anyone recognizes this person or the dog please contact Animal Control at 203 594 3510

‪Counterfeit Currency ‬ ‪NCPD and Ridgefield Police are currently investigating incidents in which counterfeit $100.00 bills were passed or attempted to be passed at local businesses. All of these incidents took place on 1/5/18 between 3-530pm.‬
