** UPDATE TO PRIOR RELEASE – DOVER MAN ARRESTED FOR COUNTERFEIT CRIMES – ACCOMPLICE SOUGHT BY POLICE **
Through investigative efforts, the Rehoboth Beach Police Department has identified both subjects captured in the surveillance photos released Tuesday, August 28th, 2018 regarding counterfeit crimes that had occurred in Rehoboth Beach.
During the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 31st, 2018 Rehoboth Beach Police, with the assistance of the Dover Police Department, located and arrested Rasheed J. Cobb, 21, of Dover, Del. for his involvement in a string of counterfeit crimes committed in August of this year. Cobb is pictured wearing a blue t-shirt and sunglasses in the surveillance photo below. Investigators determined that between August 25th, 2018 and August 27th, 2018, Cobb passed counterfeit one hundred dollar bills at five separate businesses located along or near the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk. In return for the counterfeit money Cobb received merchandise and change in the form of U.S. currency.
Cobb was arrested and charged with 5 counts of felony first degree forgery, 5 counts of felony second degree conspiracy, and 5 counts of misdemeanor theft under $1500. Cobb was released on $10,000.00 unsecured bail.
The second suspect pictured holding the ice cream cone has been identified as Ishmael G. Lamin, 25, of Newark, Del. Rehoboth Beach Police have obtained warrants for the arrest of Lamin for 5 counts of felony first degree forgery, 5 counts of felony second degree conspiracy, and 5 counts of misdemeanor theft under $1500.
