This evening the Sheriff’s Office completed the second portion of the citizens firearms class. Several deputies, investigators, and state probation officers enjoyed getting to instruct the hands-on range portion.

Our Citizens Firearms Class had a full house this evening. Investigator Matt Sims and Deputy D.A. Scott Lloyd presented an excellent program. The Sheriff’s Office has presented over 10 of these trainings and it’s always an enjoyment.

Sheriff Shaver and Investigator Gilliland attended today’s CED Mental Health Youth Prevention Conference at GSCC-Cherokee. This is an outstanding program that CED Mental Health puts together every year for Cherokee County’s students.

Sheriff Jeff Shaver & Chief Deputy Tim Hays were invited to read to an elementary class this morning at Spring Garden School.

Very proud of Spring Garden’s girls and their class 1A State Championship win & the Sand Rock girls for their class 2A State runner-up win! Sheriff Shaver, Deputy West, Investigator Green, & Investigator Kelley made sure our teams were safe as they traveled & played in the Alabama championship games at the BJCC.

Congratulations to the Sand Rock girls, class 2A State runner-up! Deputy West enjoyed escorting & protecting them while they were in Birmingham.

Congratulations to the SGHS Girls! Class 1A State Champs! Investigators Green & Kelley were proud to escort them this week to Birmingham.
