Meetings have been ongoing with the Board of Education (in Executive Session due to topic of security plans) for more resource officers and other measures to increase security in the schools, and the time for action is now. Another scam...someone calling saying they are from the Sheriff’s Office and demanding money to avoid arrest...it’s a scam that’s occurred in other counties before...Don’t be a victim of this scam! Never send money to anyone without proper verification. The Sheriff’s Office would never call demanding money to avoid an arrest.

At approximately 3:00 pm a male subject opened fire on them from outside of the establishment, fatally shooting both through the restaurant's front window. The man was located deceased near the scene by responding deputies.
Very sad that Phoenix lost this K9. He died apprehending a suspect who had carjacked people at gunpoint. He likely prevented the death of the officer with him.
