Houston County Community Corrections would like to make the following announcement.
Eddie James Richards, 35, an escapee from the HCCC work release program, has been captured and is now back in custody.
Richards was being sought by Houston County Community Corrections for his escape from the work release facility in Dothan, Alabama on Sunday March 6, 2017, at approximately 2:00AM. A warrant was obtained by Investigation/Apprehension for Richards for the charge of Escape 2nd degree, and a BOLO was sent out to area law enforcement agencies.
On March 31, 2017, Richards was arrested by Panama City Beach Police Department for the charges of Given False Name to Law Enforcement and Resisting an Officer. Richards is now back in The Houston County Jail under a $10,000 bond for his Escape charge and a "HOLD" for Houston County Community Corrections/Alabama Department of Corrections.
