Sheriff’s deputies are currently searching for a missing elderly woman in Center Point. 76-year-old Carol Peacock was visiting a home in the 200 block of Sun Valley Road. She wandered away today during the early morning hours. Peacock lives at a group home in the Eastlake area of Birmingham. Carol Peacock was last seen walking along Sun Valley Road toward Center Point Parkway early this morning. She was wearing a multi-colored shirt and black pants She is described as a white white female 5’2” and weighing 120 pounds. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450.

Sheriff Mike Hale visited Shades Valley versus Pinson Valley and Hoover versus Thompson High School football games last night where he was interviewed and discussed the the Sheriff's Office's ongoing fight against the opoid crisis. He discussed his multi-step approach which includes arresting drug dealers and partnerships with federal law enforcement and with UAB to help overcome the addiction as well as filing a lawsuit against drug manufacturers.
