Escaped inmate Thomas Joe Green has been captured and is back in custody. Thanks to all agencies for your help.

*** Subject Has been Captured! *** Marion County Sheriff’s Department News Release May 21, 2018 At approximately 1245 AM on today’s date, Thomas Joe Green escaped from the Marion County Jail. Green is a 31 year old white male that is 6’0 tall and weighs 170 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. Green’s date of birth is December 4, 1986. Green was in the Marion County Jail for a rape 1st degree charge. Subject has ties in Haleyville, AL and Muscle Shoals, AL. Green is originally from Joiner, AR. Subject was last seen with white pants and a long sleeve charcoal gray shirt. If subject is seen, please notify your local law enforcement agency or the Marion County Sheriff’s Department at 205-921-7433. As of 246 AM, we have multiple agencies out searching for Thomas Joe Green.

EDIT: Victims identification was found in Mantachie area in MS. Our department needs your help identifying the person in the pictures below. He appears to have some type of ID or badge around his neck. This subject attempted to use a stolen credit card at Wal-Mart in Fulton, MS on March 28, 2018 between 10pm and 11pm. This was one of several Items stolen in the Winfield area. Suspect vehicle is a red or maroon car, unknown make or model. The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is asking for any information on a home invasion, in the Mountain Gap area on Monday,January 22nd between the hours of 7:30-11:00am. Several firearms,a crossbow and Dewalt cordless drill were stolen from the residence. If anyone has information about this burglary please contact Investigator D Spencer (205) 921-4773.

Jessica was last seen Jan. 2nd leaving Lakeland hospital in Haleyville with another Female. Her family has tried to contact her and has not heard from her. LAST SEEN 1/12/18 AT 8:30 AM. SUBJECTS WERE HEADED TO THE TENNESSEE RIVER FISHING. SAID TO BE HEADED IN THE AREA OF COFFEE CREEK BEHIND SEVEN MILE ISLAND. The Marion County Sheriff's Department and the Northwest Alabama FOP Lodge #32 will observe Nation Police Week 2017 on Monday evening, May 8, 2017 at the Marion County Courthouse.

Marion County Jail Escapee Cory Dean Captured Inmate Cory Dean that escaped from the Marion County Jail in Hamilton, AL on March 17, 2017 is back in custody without incident. Inmate Dean was arrested in the Carbon Hill area of Walker County Alabama at approximately 1:18 AM on March 30, 2017. Inmate Dean was arrested on warrants for Escape 2nd and TOP 1st. Carbon Hill Police Department and Walker County Sheriff’s Office gathered information last night and worked on it until the early hours of this morning and was able to apprehend the escaped inmate. Sheriff Williams would like to express his gratitude to the officers of the Carbon Hill Police Department and the Walker County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in apprehending Inmate Dean this morning. Sheriff Williams advised his department along with assistance from multiple other law enforcement agencies have been working around the clock for the past 13 days to apprehend Inmate Dean. Dean’s accomplice Inmate Zepplin Kennedy was taken back into custody on March 21, 2017. Sheriff Williams said, “I am relieved that both inmates are back in custody and no one was injured while they were on the run. The apprehensions of Inmates Dean and Kennedy are the result of multiple law enforcement agencies working together and sharing resources." “I would like to express my gratitude to the following agencies for their assistance in the case of the escaped inmates: United States Marshal’s Service, Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, Walker County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Hamilton Police Department, Winfield Police Department, Brilliant Police Department, Guin Police Department, and Kennedy Police Department. Also, I would like to thank the Itawamba County Sheriff’s Office, Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office, and Lee County Sheriff’s Office in Mississippi. And any other agencies that I may have forgotten.” Also, I would like to thank all the citizens that have called any of the mentioned agencies with any tips. You can rest assured that all tips were investigated and appreciated.

Zeppelin Kennedy is in custody. He was apprehended in Marion county at his grandparents residence. His grandmother was also charged with harboring a fugitive.

While we would like to give you all updates, doing so could be a hinderance to the apprehension of Zepplin Kennedy and Cory Dean. We will continue to search for them along with the US Marshals until they are both found. Thank you for all the tips and calls we have received! We appreciate any and all information.

Escaped Inmates Inmates Cory Dean and Zepplin Kennedy escaped from the Marion County Jail at 1:32 AM on March 17, 2017. Dean is a 22 year old white male and charged with burglary 3rd (7 counts), criminal mischief 3rd, criminal mischief 2nd, arson 2nd, and discharging firearm into unoccupied dwelling. Kennedy is a 20 year old white male and charged with possession of pornography (31 counts) and production of pornography with a minor. Kennedy was last seen with grey sweatshirt and white pants. Dean was last seen with grey short sleeve thirst and grey sweatpants. Subjects are being tracked by Alabama Department of Corrections K-9 Unit along with K-9 units with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
