The Talladega County Civil Service Board is now accepting applications for the position of deputy with the Talladega County Sheriffs Office. Applications are only accepted in the office of the Chief Deputy in Talladega. Deadline for applications is June 12, 2018 at 4:00 pm. Beginning salary is as follows: Non certified: $13.24 per hr. (Raise after graduating APOST and 1 yr probation period). Certified: $16.82 per hr. (Raise after 1 yr probation period $17.32). If you have any questions please send message. The Talladega County Sheriffs Office Investigation Division set up a Mock Crime Scene for ASB students on Friday 4/20/18. The students were able to learn practices of criminal investigators. The students were able to identify, mark, photograph, and collect evidence. ASB students also learned how to process and lift fingerprints and maintain crime scene and evidence logs.

ALERT: On 04/07/2018 at approximately 9:45pm there was a 2015 bumper pull 26 ft Enterra travel trailer stolen from the 35000 Block of Hwy 280 Between Sylacauga and Childersburg. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a light colored Ford F350 dually. The Truck and camper were last seen traveling west bound towards Shelby County. The camper is Brown, Tan and White. ALERT: The Talladega County Sheriff’s Office has received complaints from the public in regards to being contacted by someone pretending to be a Talladega County Deputy Sheriff. The scammers are ordering certain residents to purchase a Green Dot MoneyPak card, or reloadable debit card, and provide them with the number on the card so they can collect payment. The scammers claim that payment is due for an outstanding debt or fine, and that an arrest warrant will be issued if payment is not made. Sheriff Kilgore would like to thank Mr. Bob Green for the generous donation he made to the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Green's donation was used to purchase a drone that will be used for search and rescue operations, aerial crime scene photographs and many other functions that will help us better serve the citizens of our county.

On March 7, 2018 our deputies were notified of a threat against BB Comer and Sylacauga school students, via a facebook post.Today March 8, 2018 Central Dispatch was informed by a caller that there was a gunman at BB Comer School. Deputies responded and determined that this was not true. This call in fact stemed from the earilier facebook post. Investigation into the matter revealed that a third party authored the facbook post under another individuals name. Subsequently,Talladega County Investigators arrested Tiffany Alicia Pate, age 44 of Sylacauga Alabama and charged her with Terrorist Threat, which is a Class C felony. Sheriff Kilgore would like to thank the members of the Sylacauga Police Department, as this was a joint investigation involving both a Talladega County and Sylacauga City school. We at the Sheriff's Office take very seriously the safety and well being of all the children in the schools. We work hand in hand with our partners at the Talladega County Board of Education to insure our children's safety. Sheriff Kilgore would like for the parents and family members of the students to know that we will be posting Law Enforcement Officers in all the Talladega County Schools immediately, to enhance our efforts to provide a safe environment.

The Talladega County Sheriff’s Office has been notified of recent phone calls received by the public from someone claiming to work for the IRS. Callers claim to be IRS employees, using fake names and bogus IRS identification badge numbers. They may know a lot about their targets, and they usually alter the caller ID to make it look like the IRS is calling. Victims are told they owe money to the IRS and it must be paid promptly through a gift card or wire transfer. Victims may be threatened with arrest, deportation or suspension of a business or driver’s license. The IRS doesn't initiate contact with taxpayers by email, text messages or social media channels to request personal or financial information. The Talladega County Sheriff's Office is seeking information in reference to an attempted Burglary at The Marathon gas station on Priebes Mill Road. The same subject is also a suspect in a Burglary of the Dollar General store located in the Renfroe area a short time later. Both of these incidents occurred in the early morning hours on Sunday, February 11, 2018. RIP Retired Chief Deputy, Ken Flowers Job well done!

Graveside services for retired Chief Deputy Ken Flowers will be held Tuesday January 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Alpine Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Alpine.

Its with heavy hearts that we send our thoughts and prayers to the Flowers family. Retired Chief Deputy Ken Flowers has moved on to his heavenly home. We will miss you Chief, but we will never forget you. Rest in peace our friend until we meet again. JOB WELL DONE...

A shared Facebook post has been circulating with threats to a school that is located in Virginia. Due to the post stating “MHS “, there were concerns from the Munford community. With the help of the Talladega County BOE and Munford High admin , we have verified this threat is not directed toward any of our schools.
