Update.....the 2nd and 3rd blocks South of Highway 82 have been opened! Please use caution and stay indoors away from smoke and debris. Please be courteous of first responders!!!

Update!!!! Fire is contained and all orders and advisories remain in place!!!

Good afternoon -- Due to the fire at the plywood mill, we are requiring all businesses on Highway 82 (from O'Reilly's down to Taco Bell) and south to 3rd Ave. to close and evacuate the area. Residents are being advised to stay inside if it is smokey, due to poor air quality. Thank you for your patience! We will update here and KAGH radio station if there are any changes.

2017 SPECIAL OLYMPICS-ARKANSAS POLAR PLUNGE!!! We are working with Special Olympics Arkansas to bring the Polar Plunge to Crossett on December 8, 2017. This is a fundraiser where 100% of the money raised goes to help the Arkansas Special Olympics and the athletes who participate. We should have an online sign up operational sometime next week. In the mean time, please help spread the word and start getting your teams together!!! We are also looking for corporate sponsors, so managers and business owners please consider helping out. Together the Crossett Community can make this a event great, helping a wonderful cause. Please, like, comment, and share this post. Help us get the word out. We will let everyone know as soon as the registration is open for our area. For more information about this event, see the link below. Thank you and God Bless!!

The National Drug Take Back Initiative 14 is set for Saturday October 28, 2017. This year the Crossett Police Depatment and Gammel's Pharmacy will be set up from 10am until 2pm in the parking lot of Gammel's Pharmacy. We encourage everyone to bring in all expired/unused/unwanted medications during this event. Clean out your medicine cabnets before your kids do it for you. Family and friends are the main source of abused prescription drugs. When a kid first experiments with drugs...he/she usually doesn't get them from a dealer, they get them from your home. If you can not make it to the event, the Crossett Police Department has a permanent MedReturn box. We are open 24/7 and drugs can be dropped off at anytime. Please help keep our children and community safe. Hope to see you at the event on October 28th. Lt. Shelbi L Hust

Our phone lines are back up and running. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Notice!! Phone lines are down throughout the City of Crossett. We have spoken to Windstream and there was routine maintenance scheduled for tonight but was not meant to interrupt service. However phone lines are down though out the city including the police and fire departments. Within the next few minutes we will publish a cell phone number which you can reach the Crossett Police department on for non- emergencies. 911 is a redundant system and is operational through the Ashley Sheriff's Office so for EMERGENCY DIAL 911. For non emergency the Ashley county Sheriff Office is (870) 853-2040. Thank You for your understanding in this matter.
