Reckless driver complaint leads to drug arrest

One of our employees saw posted on another site a few days ago that someone in Baxter County said that his or her pet dog had stolen from the property. There may have been some information posted with regards to the suspect's vehicle description. We have not received any official reports of this in the recent past. However, if anyone in our jurisdiction has recently had a pet stolen off their property then we would be glad to take a report and investigate the case to the extent possible. Thank you.

The Sheriff's Administrative Offices will be closed tomorrow (TUESDAY) from 10 AM till 1 PM to allow employees to attend Sgt. Neal's funeral and burial services. The Ark State Police will be responding to service calls for us during that time period. We appreciate your understanding.

It is with the utmost sorrow and a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of one of our own. Sheriff's Sgt. Eric Neal, who had been with the Sheriff's Office since 2001 and who had worked in law enforcement with other agencies prior to that, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last evening. Sgt. Neal's current assignment was as the Assistant Jail Administrator. He had previously been assigned to the patrol division and the criminal investigation division at various times throughout his career. Sgt. Neal's passing leaves a void in the hearts and lives of those who knew him. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time. Arrangements are still pending.
