Harrison Police Department News

Harrison Fire personnel are starting day 2 of Public Information Officer.

Congratulations to Tanner McGhee on completing your first year with the Harrison Fire Department this month.

Thank you Assistant Chief Darrell Pace on 26 years of service this month.

B-shift was helping with the core rescue class today being taught to the newer guys.

Shift change knot sharing.

The flag has arrived.

“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children.” —former President George W. Bush

Thank you so much for the person that bought our lunch today. Sincerely B-shift

The number of fire department personnel who have succumbed to illnesses related to rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center now stands at 177, and the FDNY says it expects that number to eventually surpass the 343 firefighters who died on Sept. 11, 2001.

Assistant Chief Gerard A. Barbara looks up at the burning towers of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 in New York City. Moments later he would go in, never to return!

E1, E2, and E3 are now back in service after a commercial fire alarm. Luckily it was a false alarm.

Last month 21 years ago we lost one of our own. Lieutenant Rick Morris died in an MVA in Boone county. Lieutenant Morris had been on the department for 13 years. Always remembering our brothers and sisters.

Congratulations to Firefighter/Training Officer Jeremy Sansing on completing his 9th year of service with the Harrison Fire Dept.

Thank you Harrison!
