Alma Police Department News

We are in Greenwood this morning with some Alma School Administration at Stop The Bleed. Even though this training has been planned for months, it takes on a new level of importance in light of recent events.

While we are proud to announce our Officers are trained and equipped with Naloxone Opioid Overdose Kits now, we are not happy that this has become necessary. Understand that these are just a tool and not the answer to every suspected overdose. We will continue to fight to get these opioid drugs off of our streets and out of our city.

We are in awe of what our Alma High School Cheerleaders just accomplished in Orlando, FL. 2018 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!

Bridges, overpasses and hills are starting to get slick. Please only travel if absolutely necessary.

Only 4 spots still available for Citizens Police Academy 2018!!

***Please Share*** Today we had two vehicles broken into in Alma. The two men pictured are Suspects in the case. They used credit cards from the vehicles to make fraudulent purchases. If you know either one of them please contact the Alma Police Department at 479-632-3333. If you do not know either of them PLEASE SHARE this post.

The Jr Officers Club at Alma Intermediate School learned about all kinds of cool equipment this morning. They learned about Night Vision, Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR), Portable Breath Testers and other things our Officers carry to help them better serve the community. We think all the kids agreed, the FLIR was the coolest thing they had ever seen. One Jr Officer thought those things only existed in video games.

We have a great group of teachers leading the future of our community!!

We want to thank all of our friends at Grace Church for the delicious BBQ they provided today. We truly appreciate your kindness. Thank you.

Here is a good look at our laws about use of handheld wireless devices (cellphones) while driving. Thank you to our friends at Arkansas State Police for putting this post together.

The Alma Police Focus Group now has a way to donate to them!!

Bridges and overpasses in and around Alma are starting to become icy. Please don’t get out if you don’t need to.

For the past twenty years we have been blessed to be part of Shop With a Cop. The work the volunteers of the Alma Police Focus Group put into this is truly amazing. This year we were blessed by our community with the ability to shop with 150 of the sweetest kids. Thank you to everyone that makes it possible.

It’s good to have friends at NORAD. For all of the little ones wanting to keep an eye on Santa!! Merry Christmas!!

Congratulations to our Civil Servant family at the Alma Fire Department. Award winners tonight are Officer of the Year Captain Peewee Parsons, Firefighter of the Year Ryan Decker and Chief’s Award recipient Brett Bottoms. Brett was also surprised with a promotion to Captain!! We are honored to serve this community with such a great group of professionals.

This is something we look forward to every year. The work the Focus Group puts into this is amazing.

If you are ever unsure call your local police department or call 911 and travel to a well lit area.
