May 19, 2017 Lt Shane Martin of the Marmaduke Police Department goes 10-7, 10-42 at the end of his shift for the last time. Today is the start of a new life for Retired Officer Shane Martin. Your brothers at the police department wish you all the best in your new life. Make the most of it!!

The Marmaduke Police Department would like to thank Lt Shane Martin for his many years of service and dedication as a police officer to the city of Marmaduke and it's citizens. He has also dedicated a large part of his career to the Marmaduke School as the School Resource Officer and DARE officer. Lt Shane Martin will be retiring from law enforcement this month. Attached are pictures of his retirement party. If you see him out please take time to thank and congratulate him. Shane you will be missed and we wish you the best on your future endeavors.

The Marmaduke Police Department would like to welcome three new officers to the department. Ptl. Scott Oxford who is our newest full-time Officer. Ptl. Cody Lewis and Ptl. Jason Wolfenbarger who will both be working part time.

****ATTENTION**** Monday morning November 21, 2016 North 9th Street at Franklin will become a four way stop. PLEASE pay extra attention when at this intersection for the next few weeks until people are have gotten used to it. This will be a permanent four way stop.

Marmaduke Police Department would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the following K-9 Officers and departments for their assistance today. Officer Boling and partner Duex of the Paragould Police Department. Officer Rogers his partner Angel and Officer Zaffarano and his partner Cash of the Jonesboro Police Department. In an effort to promote a safe and drug free learning environment. The Marmaduke Police Department requested the presence of their K-9’s at the school. The K-9’s performed searches of the parking lot and school lockers for the presence of illegal drugs.

These girls came to the police department today. They brought a card, beautiful artwork, snacks and drinks to show their appreciation for police officers. I want to thank these wonderful girls for their thoughtfulness and most of all for caring. These are dangerous times for law enforcement and all first responders. You made my day thank you so much!!

Joshua Stokes has been arrested and bound over to Circuit Court on a $25,000 bond. He has been charged with commercial burglary and theft of property in an incident involving Kevin’s Package Store.

The arrest of two suspects has been made in the connection of 21 vehicle break-ins last week here in Marmaduke.

Today is April 22 and several vehicles were broken into last night or early in the morning. Please lock your car doors and do not leave anything of value in them. If your vehicle was broke into please file a police report even if nothing is missing. Marmaduke Police Department K9 Duke has been awarded a bullet and stab proof vest The Marmaduke Police Department’s K9 Duke has been awarded a ballistic vest thanks to a nonprofit organization, Vested Interest in K9’s Inc. Vested Interest in K9's, Inc. is a 501c (3) charity located in East Taunton, MA. whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. Each vest costs $950.00 and has a 5 year warranty. The nonprofit for their four legged K9 Officers. Through private and corporate sponsorships, Vested Interest in K9's Inc. provided over 1317 law enforcement dogs in 49 states with protective vests since 2009 at a cost of over $1.2 million dollars. Vested Interest in K9's Inc. announces their 7" plush stuffed German Shepherd K9 Hero, "Cesar", and company ambassador of Vested Interest in K9's, Inc. now available online for a donation of $15.00 at www.vik9s.org. If you are a walker or runner DO NOT do it alone. Take a friend. Especially if you are walking in a cemetery or somewhere secluded. Do not visit a cemetery alone. An incident happened at Harvey's Chapel today. The woman is okay. If anyone has information about the incident please contact the Marmaduke Police Department. If you see anyone that looks suspicious when your traveling past a cemetery notify the authorities.
