Congratulations go out to Officer Miles French for being awarded Officer of the Month! On February 13th, Ofc French conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a fictitious license plate. During the course of his investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle driver had an extensive drug history and multiple warrants for arrest. Upon making contact with the occupants, Ofc French observed the driver to put a cheeseburger box away quickly. Canine Ofc Dickson arrived on scene and, upon running the canine around the vehicle, received a positive alert. Ofc French searched the vehicle and located a baggie of suspected Methamphetamine hidden inside of a cheeseburger in the cheeseburger box. Through observation, attention to detail, and thinking outside of the box, Ofc French was able to remove narcotics from the streets of Malvern. Great work Officer French!

Due to an increase of complaints of intoxicated and disorderly people at the River Park, the Malvern Police Department begun an increase of patrols throughout the area. The department is working with other agencies, which include officers from Malvern Police Department, Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Game and Fish, and Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Department, to ensure that the River Park remains a wonderful place where the community can enjoy the benefits of the river. To ensure the safety of all who enjoy the area, these agencies will utilize uniformed officers and plain clothes officers to affect the arrests of those who violate the law and impede the enjoyment of the people who prefer not to be in the area with intoxicated people who stagger, use profane language and who are being disorderly or unsafe. The Malvern Police Department in cooperation with various other Law Enforcement agencies, will continue to enhance patrols and enforcement around this area and will not tolerate those who participate in illegal and unacceptable behavior. The river is a beautiful place for all people to safely enjoy and will be treated as such. Thanks for your assistance in keeping our community a safe and enjoyable area.
