The OK Program of Little Rock celebrated its 10th Annual End of the Year Award with a trip to San Antonio TX. June 25th-29th. The Trip awards the “OK” Program students who achieved in the area of academics,citizenship and attendance. The students must report a 2.5 or better GPA. The highest GPA was a 3.87. City of Little Rock to open four cooling centers during extreme heat WHO: City of Little Rock, Little Rock Parks & Recreation WHAT: Cooling Centers for citizens who need to escape extreme heat WHEN: Thursday, June 28 – Friday, June 29, 2018. 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. WHERE: Dunbar Community Center – 1001 W. 16th East Little Rock Community Center – 2500 East 6th Street Southwest Community Center – 6401 Baseline Road West Central Community Center – 4521 John Barrow Road LITTLE ROCK – The City of Little Rock will be opening four cooling centers on Thursday and Friday of this week. With a heat advisory expected from the National Weather Service, the City will make four of its community centers available for those who need to escape the heat. Each of the cooling centers will be open from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Parks and Recreation staff will be on hand at each of these facilities to assist citizens and provide them with a place to get out of the heat, water to drink and rest room facilities. #FollowLRPDonFacebookandTwitter

The Little Rock Police Department’s Annual Police Youth Camp departed the 12th Street Station this morning. A great send off of two buses with over 70 kids with police escorts! Youth Camp is designed to reward kids ages 10-12 for good behavior. Interactive recreational and positive time with Officers promote leadership skills and builds relationships.

LRPD is on site at Sam’s Club on Bowman Rd. Please stop by and donate to the Summer Cereal Drive.
