Daily Summary for September 20, 2018
•Officers responded to Military Road in reference to someone trying to cash a fraudulent check. The suspect fled the scene before the officer’s arrival but left his driver’s license behind. The investigation is ongoing.
•Following a traffic stop on Congo Road, officers cited and released the driver for a warrant out of Saline County and a warrant out of our department. The passenger was arrested for Obstruction of Governmental Operations after falsely identifying herself.
•Officers arrested a suspect for a warrant out of Denver County, Colorado, for Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer. The suspect is awaiting extradition at the Sheriff’s Office.
•Officers responded to Gattin Road in reference to shots fired. Contact was made with an individual in the area and he denied knowing anything about the incident. Officers later noticed that the crossing guard sign wasn’t flashing as they should and found that the solar panel of the sign had a gunshot hole in it. Dispatch was instructed to advise the Benton Street Department about the damage.
•Following a traffic stop at an I-30 business, officers arrested two individuals for theft of property warrants. They were taken to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office.
