Defensive tactics training with some of our rookie officers

From Chief White..... Attention! Attention! Attention! I am pleased to announce that Ofc. Zach Rowland has been selected as Officer of the Month for the month of May. Ofc. Rowland was selected for his work performance in leading his shift in a team challenge event. Ofc. Rowland not only exceeded team expectations, but increased the teams morale and unity throughout the challenge. Ofc. Rowland displayed great leadership ability by encouraging and assisting the younger officers on his team. The EPD Honor Guard with Sgt Miller, Ofc Ardwin and Ofc Foley participated in a pre Memorial Day event at Home Depot honoring those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. We appreciate being a part of this moving ceremony.

Tonight, the EPD hosted the Reserve Officer class for numerous agencies in the surrounding area. These Reserve officers spent numerous weeks learning about the job. They will be an asset to their respective agencies in a variety of ways. They worked very hard to get to this point. Congratulations!!!!!!

Capt Karl Nichols, Sgt Jarod Primm and Capt Michael Leveritt of the EPD Bomb Squad, spent some time at Hudson Nursing Home today. With the assistance of K9 Pearl, they audience learned about a variety of explosives issues and how the EPD is highly trained and equipped for the safety of our citizens.

From Chief White: I am pleased to announce that Detective Tammie Martin has been selected as Officer of The Month for the month of April. Det. Martin was selected due to her investigative skills, team work, and intuition which lead to the arrest of a suspect in a recent violent kidnapping incident. The EPD narcotics unit made a really nice drug bust over the weekend by getting over $41,000 in marijuana, ecstasy and other prescription abuse items.

The EPD would like to thank the Marrable Hill youth group for dropping by stuffed animals and cookies. We also appreciate Ofc Shad Foley and Ofc Amber Belin for giving them a tour of our agency.
