The Scottsdale Police Department is sad to announce that retired Police Service Dog Havoc has passed away. Havoc was 11 years old. Havoc retired from Duty in 2016 when Sgt. Coffee was promoted to Lieutenant. Havoc spent over 8 years dedicated to the K9 Unit and the Citizens of Scottsdale. For many years, Havoc was the Explosive Ordinance Detection K9 at all of the major City events. These events include the Giants Spring Training Baseball games, Barrett Jackson Auto Shows, the Phoenix Waste Management Open, and the Arabian Horse Show. If there was a large crowd, Havoc was there to keep them safe. Havoc’s service to the City will always be remembered and we would like to take this moment to thank him for his dedication. Handlers spend 24 hours a day and 7 days a week with their K9 partners while they are assigned to the road. Once retired the K9s get to enjoy being a normal dog for a while, which is exactly what Havoc did living with Lt. Coffee until he passed. Thank You Havoc for the time you dedicated to keeping us all safe!
