Sedona Police Department along with the Sedona Oak Creek School District and the Sedona Fire District are hosting a Hispanic Community Outreach Night for community members, parents and students. The event will be on October 24th, 2017 at 5:30pm at the Sedona Red Rock High School in the cafeteria. School Resource Officer McQuaid and Commander Bayne will be at the event to answer questions. Today Sedona Fire Department and Sedona Police Department teamed up during a presentation at the Sedona Montessori School. Students checked out the fire truck and police cars. Sedona Fire Dept talked about the proper use of the 911 system. Thank you to Officers Lopez and Gavin who attended the presentation. Also a thank you to Firefighter Paramedic Jeremy Lilly for the invitation to join the presentation.

Sedona PD wearing pink patches and pink t-shirts in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Beginning October 1st, you will see Sedona Police Department Officers wearing pink patches on their uniforms for October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These patches can be purchased at Sedona Police Department and at National Night Out (10/7, 3p-5p at Posse Grounds Park). Minimum donation of $10 per patch, proceeds will be given to Impact One Breast Cancer Foundation.

Sedona Police Department held a ceremony last night in which we recognized: ~ our newest dispatcher Clair ~ a job well done in handling a stressful call for service by Officers Ortega and McCullar- great job! ~ the promotion for Sergeant Pelletier, our newest member of the leadership team! Congrats to all!

K9 Officer Reed and partner Max are on their way home!!!!

Today Officer Reed and Sergeant Foley went to Adlerhorst to pick our Sedona Police Department's newest K9 addition. Here were the three options: Kyra, Max, and Adaro that we tested. Any guesses which K9 will be Ofc. Reed's partner: 1-Kyra 2-Max 3-Adaro?

Sedona Police Department's Chief McGill is participating in the 1st "Cooking with the Chiefs" event. Please come out and support Chief McGill and the Special Olympics of Arizona this Saturday, September 16th. Check out the flyer for more details.

Sedona Police, DPS, and Sedona Fire are working a serious crash on southbound SR 89A at thr Dry Creek Bridge. Expect delays as traffic is being diverted slowly through the scene by way of the left side shoulder.

On September 7th & 8th Chief McGill, Officer McQuaid, and Sergeant Foley attended the inaugural conference for AZWIN. AZWIN is the Arizona Women's Initiative Network, with the slogan of we are "Stronger Together." Many amazing chiefs were in attendance giving great talks: Phoenix PD Chief Jeri Williams, Tempe PD Chief Sylvia Moir, and San Luis Obispo PD Chief Deanna Cantrell. Sedona PD and staff from Prescott PD, along with Chief Debbie Black enjoyed laughs over dinner together.

Sedona Police Volunteers were provided lunch today by officers and staff of the Sedona Police Department in recognition of the thousands of hours they have provided to the department and community. A big THANK YOU to all of our Police Volunteers. We couldn't do it without your help.

Sedona Police Department responded to a report of an injured baby Cooper's Hawk in the bushes outside a residence. Game and Fish Officer Luedecker arrived to assist, and determined the hawk was not injured but hadn't learn to fly yet. Officer Butler comforted the hawk while Ofc. Luedecker did an ascending rappel about 30 feet to the hawk's nest, where the hawk was safely returned.
