SCAM ALERT! If you receive a call from your own number, it's not your future self! You're being "spoofed" by scammers and they are trying to get your social security number and other financial info. DO NOT ANSWER OR SHARE ANY INFO WITH THE CALLER.

Wanted Person: If you know where Carlos Perez Mendez is, or see him, immediately contact BPD. He was arrested last week for secretly tainting a beer with drugs and serving it to a female. He bailed out of jail this past weekend and failed to show up for court.

Police Activity: Investigation of alcohol theft from Vons this afternoon led to suspect identification, his location and arrest out on Hwy 6, plus his girlfriend’s arrest on an outstanding felony warrant.

Police Activity: A 38-year-old Bishop man was arrested on the 400 blk. of Main St. He allegedly tainted a beer with a stimulant and served it to a female acquaintance, who subsequently required hospitalization. A search of his home revealed meth.

Police Activity: PD received a prowler call this morning at 9:45. A resident in the 200 blk. of E. Line St. found a male inside her apartment. The unknown suspect fled and is still at large. No description at this time.

Traffic Accident (update): Vehicle vs. Pedestrian this morning, W. Line St. at Home St. crosswalk. The Ped was transported to NIH and is in fair condition. Preliminary details indicate speed and inattention as contributing factors.

Traffic accident in the area of W Line and Home Street. Officers and emergency personnel are on scene. Please avoid the area if possible.

This utility scam seems to be targeting our area heavily this week, calling both businesses and residences. *The callers are identifying as employees with both SCE and DWP. Please share this information with family and neighbors who may not be on social media to prevent them from becoming a victim.

Officer Madera accepted some very sweet 'Thank You' letters this morning for his help with the Pleasant Fire last week.

POLICE ACTIVITY: Theft of meat investigation resulted in suspect ID, his location, recovery of the meat, the discovery of stolen plates on the suspect vehicle, a citation, and two arrest warrants being served on additional subjects contacted.

Illegal Dumping: Thanks to an alert citizen who immediately phoned the PD, two local adults were caught and cited for dumping furniture near the park and behind Vons.

Police Activity (Update): The female who on Dec. 15th was harboring her wanted boyfriend on the 100 blk. of Clarke St. pleaded guilty yesterday. The boyfriend has served his time on the warrant but has a future court date.

Evacuation orders are still in place as of now.

Update from Inyo County Sheriff's Office As of 0230 hours: We are addressing a rumor that evacuation orders were lifted- they have NOT been lifted. Evacuation orders are still in place. Officials will evaluate the situation tomorrow. The Eastern Sierra Tri-County Fairgrounds is open as a shelter. UPDATE 5:20pm: MANDATORY Evacuations in the following areas: Highlands, Glenwood, Rite Aid Complex, Bear Creek, Meadow Creek, Dixon Lane- all housing areas between North Sierra Highway/ Dixon Lane/ Brockman, Five Bridges, Fish Slough, and Laws. Sheltering will be at the Fair Grounds in Bishop.

Police Activity: PD just clearing a vehicle vs pedestrian accident, Main at MacIver crosswalk. Ped with injuries transported to the ER. DUI not suspected.
