Prayers and thoughts for LASD. They lost another Sergeant this morning during a pursuit.

Commentary: As of today, 99 Police Officers & Deputy Sheriffs across America have died in the line of duty this year. There has been a 56% increase in the number of officers killed by suspects with a gun. Several years ago, AB109 was started to "relieve" the overcrowding in our Prisons. These prisons held prisoners that were "caught & convicted" of a felony. A couple of years ago, the citizens of California passed "Prop 47". It is called the "Safe Schools" initiative. More people who would've gone to prison, no longer have to because the crime was lowered to misdemeanors. ---- Again to save space in the Prisons. As quoted: “Prop 57 focuses law enforcement on serious violent crime, stops wasting costly prison space on non-violent people who can be rehabilitated, and directs savings to programs with a proven track record of stopping the cycle of crime.” – Governor Jerry Brown A suspect in this weeks murder of Sergeant Owens, was arrested 12 times and was already sentenced to State Prison twice. This suspect was released because of overcrowding. On a piece of paper somewhere, it will show there was a "cost savings" because he and others who have killed or will kill can be "rehabilitated". The "Price" of this cost savings is being made by those who are paying the ultimate price. Making the ultimate sacrifice. We strongly urge everyone to read this specific Proposition carefully. And please keep all of our men and women in blue in your thoughts and prayers during these extremely dangerous times. Chief Hurtado...
