Friday? Fri-yay! It's time to meet another adoptable dog from the Pasadena Animal Shelter. There are so many sensational dogs at the shelter that it's always a tough decision when we try to select which dog we're going to feature. This week the staff made it easy for us by eagerly suggesting Clyde, and he made it apparent pretty quickly why the shelter staff likes him so much. Clyde is a fun, happy-go-lucky dog. You can't help but smile when you're hanging out with this guy. He was great on his leash and stayed close to us. He is definitely a people-dog. Clyde would probably make a wonderful running or adventure partner. Clyde is listed as a Whippet mix and is approximately 2 years old. His coat is really interesting, with different shades of grayish-brown and a solid, dark strip down his back. He's neutered and up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. If you're interested in meeting Clyde or if you'd like more information, visit the Pasadena Animal Shelter at 5150 Burke Rd during adoption hours.

On 04/17/18, a joint operation with the Pasadena Police Department and the Deer Park Police Department was conducted in the 2000 block of South Palm Court. The Pasadena Narcotics Task Force and the Pasadena SWAT team executed a search warrant in the area with the assistance of Deer Park PD Investigators and Patrol Officers, Pasadena PD Patrol Division, Financial Crimes Division, Auto Theft Division, the Pasadena Fire Marshal’s Office, the City of Pasadena Code Enforcement Unit, the Pasadena Fire Department, and the Humane Department. Investigators located evidence pertaining to various crimes, including a quantity of narcotics. Eleven individuals were located in the residence and arrested. Criminal charges are being filed through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office on some of these individuals that range from drug possession to outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants. Additional property and financial crimes charges are also pending. Based on the condition of the residence, it was deemed unsafe for habitation by the City of Pasadena. These results would not have been possible without Deer Park PD detectives’ initial hard work and collaboration with Pasadena detectives along with the ensuing collaborative effort of many law enforcement and city officials.

On April 15, 2018, two unknown suspects backed a White Chevrolet Silverado truck into the court entrance of the Harris County Precinct 2 John Phelps Annex located in the 100 block of Richey St. They attempted to remove the ATM from the building; however, they were unsuccessful. This past weekend, members of the community came together to honor and remember the life of Geno L. Cruz, who was a long time employee of the City of Pasadena. The new walking trail at Queens Park was dedicated in his memory. Mayor Jeff Wagner made the official dedication of the Geno Cruz Walking Trail to Mary Cruz and her family. This new walking trail is sure to bring a smile to those who use it, just as Geno brought a smile to those who knew him.

It's "Forgotten Friends Friday"! This is Harrison. Harrison came out of the kennel area like a true gentleman, well-behaved and polite. He led us outside and into the sun, where he enjoyed licking the dew off of the grass. At one point he caught sight of a couple of dogs that were visiting and he couldn't take his eyes off of them. He stood still like a statue for several minutes, watching them. You could tell he wanted to play. When we went back inside, he gave a quick hello and a tail wag to those dogs before heading back to his kennel. Harrison is listed as a Labrador Retriever and Great Dane mix and is approximately 2 years old. He's at the very top of the weight range to still be considered medium, weighing in at 63 lbs. He also appears to be house trained. Harrison is neutered and up-to-date on his shots. If you want to meet Harrison or if you'd like more information about him, visit the Pasadena Animal Shelter at 5150 Burke Rd during adoption hours.

Thank you Telecommunicators for the fantastic job you do day in and day out. #NationalTelecommunicatorWeek
