2018 BAKER TO VEGAS RELAY RUN Over the past weekend, members of the San Marino Police Department along with South Pasadena PD, San Fernando PD, and USC competed in the annual runner’s race commonly called the “Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay Run”. Agencies from across the country and abroad compete for the coveted “B2V Mug and Winner’s Plaque” awarded to the top 50 percent of teams in each category, giving them bragging rights for the year. The relay covers 120 miles involving 20 runners through the desert. San Marino personnel ran in category “500” which was a combined team with the above mentioned agencies. At the conclusion of the race, runners representing the San Marino Department placed 11th in their division awarding them the “B2V Mug and Winner’s Plaque” Congratulations to each of the runners and support staff for a job well done. So sad. I hope the person gets caught soon so no one else gets hurt. Praying for his family.

The San Marino Police department sends our deepest condolence to the Pomona Officer's Family who was shot and killed this morning and the entire Pomona PD family over this Tragic loss.

At approximately 11:50 am, the San Marino Police Department responded to an Auto vs. Animal collision in the 2100 block of Lorain Road. The male golden retriever sustained moderate injures and was transported to the vet by Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA. If you are the owner of this dog, or know who is, please contact the San Marino Police Department at 626-300-0720 and refer to case CR18-0211. Edited to reflect breed of Golden Retriever

The San Marino Police Department would like thank all those who made this training a success: Alhambra Police Department San Gabriel Police Department, South Pasadena Police Department Sierra Madre Police Department. The San Marino Unified School District, San Marino High School Student Body, parents, volunteers, community members, city staff, and city council. This training was designed to educate the students at San Marino High School on how to respond to an active shooter event. Sadly these types of trainings are necessary in this day and age. We hope we will never have to respond to this type of call, but the San Marino Police Department, along with our partner San Gabriel Valley Police agencies train together to handle threats to schools.
