The Torrance Police Department has re-opened Crenshaw Blvd. from Carson St. to Monterey St. after an earlier injury traffic collision required the road to be closed. Traffic has resumed.

The Torrance Police Dept. has responded to an injury traffic collision in the area of Crenshaw Blvd. and Monterey St. Southbound traffic on Crenshaw Blvd. from Carson St. to Monterey Street is being diverted. Please avoid the area. Use Maple Ave. as an alternative route.

The 2nd alarm structure fire in the area of Monterey St. and Maple Ave. has been contained. Traffic has resumed in all directions in the area.

The monthly test of the Community Alert Sirens will be conducted on the first Wednesday of every month at approximately 11: 30 a.m. THIS IS ONLY A TEST! The monthly test is described as follows: One-minute โ€œall-clear chimesโ€ will precede and follow a two-minute โ€œsiren tone.โ€ Total testing time will not exceed five minutes. It is important to note that the โ€œsirenโ€ tone carries a greater distance. It may be heard in areas beyond the reach of the โ€œchime.โ€

Sonoma St., between Fern Ave. and Greenwood Ave., has reopened to traffic.

The police containment on 182nd St. and Felton Ave. in Redondo Beach is complete. Police units have cleared the area and streets are now open to the public.

Sonoma St. will be closed between Fern Ave. and Greenwood Ave. for approximately 90 minutes due to a tree branch blocking the road. Public Works is on scene. Use Carson St. as an alternate.

A containment has been set up in the area of 182nd St. and Felton Ave. in the City of Redondo Beach. Torrance and Redondo Beach officers are conducting a search for burglary suspects. 2 are in custody, 1 is outstanding. Please avoid the area.

All eastbound traffic lanes on Pacific Coast Highway from Anza Ave. to Hawthorne Blvd. are closed due to a traffic collision, vehicle vs. pedestrian, at PCH and Ocean Ave. Torrance Police and Fire are on scene. Please use alternative routes and avoid the area until further notice.

This past week Torrance SWAT participated in the AARTAC 2017 SWAT Competition and took home 1st place. ๐Ÿ† The competition consisted of a team combat course, team tactical carbine course, individual handgun course and a team O-course relay race.
