San Joaquin Delta College District Police Department News

Last night, we were proud to support the San Joaquin County Fallen Peace Officer Foundation at the Annual Law Enforcement Night with the Stockton Heat! Prior to the event, we had an amazing tailgate party where San Joaquin Delta College mascot Fierce represented the District Police Department and took photos with kids and adults alike. Delta Officer Vincent Barron participated in the multi-agency honor guard as our nation's colors were presented. After the first period, a harrowing ice tricycle race pitted "Corporal Fierce" against "McGruff, the Crime Dog". There may have been a little assistance, but our mascot came out on top, but all those who attended were the real winners! Thank you to all those who came out to support your local law enforcement and our fallen peace officers. A special thank you is extended to The Stockton Heat for making this evening possible.

Today at our Child Development Center the kids and Officers enjoyed a snow day together. Here are some photos of the event and the happy smiles that came with it.

Tips for Driving in the Fog: Heavy fog in spots throughout Stockton this morning, including surrounding areas. Please take these safety precautions while driving: - Reduce speed - Keep windows & mirrors clear - use your defroster - Turn on your windshield wipers - Maintain a longer following distance between vehicles - Use low-beam headlights. High-beams reflect light back and cause glare. Thank you, Chief Di Piero

Welcome to Spring 2018! The District Police ask you to follow a few simple tips to maintain a safe and fun educational experience.

On January 19, 2018, we had the distinct pleasure of officially welcoming Officer Carlson into the Delta College family. Officer Carlson comes to us after an amazing career with the San Joaquin County Sheriff Department. There, he was a member of their elite SWAT team and served as a Field Training Officer to new hires. We are so pleased to welcome him to Delta College!

Today, Chief Di Piero, Sergeant Bock, and CSO McAnelly represented the District Police Department at the 2nd Annual Human Trafficking Summit. We cannot thank the San Joaquin County Office of Education, the Women's Center Youth and Family Services, the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office, the Children's Home of Stockton, and the Family Justice Center for providing this intense, informative, and necessary summit. We would like to provide a special thanks to Suzanne Schultz. Her passion and dedication to this cause is nothing short of amazing. Suzanne, you are a true champion and hero.

Sometimes the students breaks offer true benefits to the community, as a whole. Today we were pleased to welcome the City of Stockton Fire Department on campus to conduct training. Thank you Stockton Fire for keeping us all safe!

The District Police Department wishes you all a Happy New Year! May the new year bring you safety and joy!

On a day when we celebrate with our families, tragedy has sadly struck. Late last night, just half an hour before midnight, CHP Officer Andrew Camilleri was taken from us while making sure that the rest of us got home safely. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Officer Camilleri's wife, three children, his entire family, and his extended family at the California Highway Patrol. Rest in peace, sir.

On December 15, 2017 we proudly swore in, and pinned, the newest member of the Delta College Police Department. Officer Vincent Barron came to us from the Stanislaus County Sheriff Department, where he has worked as a Deputy Sheriff since 2013. Please join us in giving Officer Barron a warm welcome!
