Thank you to the anonymous donor that provided our officers with stuffed animals to give to children during traumatic incidents. It is amazing how such a small gesture of giving a toy to a child in a stressful situation, can have such a positive impact. Louisville is a wonderful community!

Please share the following press release and call the LPD if you have any identifying information.

Last week, Commander Fitzgibbons and Detective Sergeant Morris were able to attend the 2018 National Character and Leadership Symposium (NCLS) at the Air Force Academy. They had wonderful speakers and yes, that is Dr. Ruth! NCLS is the United States Air Force Academy’s flagship event on character and leadership. It brings together distinguished scholars, military leaders, corporate executives and world-class athletes to motivate and equip participants for honorable living and effective leadership. Each NCLS connects participants with powerful speakers from all walks of life, in presentations and discussion sessions, to encourage reflection and motivate personal action. By reinforcing Air Force Core Values of service, integrity and excellence, NCLS contributes to the Academy’s role as a unique and valuable character and leadership resource for both the Air Force, and the nation.

Earlier this week, the Louisville Police Department hosted an Advanced Level Information Officer training and several of our employees were able to attend, along with other law enforcement and fire department personnel. Thank you to Public Safety Media Training and Russell Ruffin and Penny Carter for a wonderful and beneficial training.

Officer Adam made this young man's day!

On February 11th, the Louisville Police Department was proud to provide our training room to the Military Working Dog Team Support Association where they assembled nearly 200 care packages for the military working dog teams deployed in conflict zones overseas. Here are some pictures from the event and Chief Hayes is pictured with the working group at the end of the day.

Here is a training about identity theft from the Louisville Public Library. If you don't have Valentine's Day plans already.....😉

The Louisville Police Department now has a drop box to collect prescription and over-the-counter medications, which was provided by the Colorado Household Medication Take-Back Program. You can drop off your medications during business hours from 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday (closed holidays.)

We had a special visit on Superbowl Sunday from Malila with a delivery of Girl Scout cookies! She and her family wanted to let us know that they love and support all of their police officers. Thank you Yolanda Cole and Malila! (And Officer Lamb did share the cookies with the rest of the officers and staff! 😁)

It is with a heavy heart that we once again shroud our badges for a fallen brother.
