IMPORTANT IFORMATION REGARDING THE DSNAP EVENT. You must come on your assigned day based on 1st letter of last name.

To our Businesses, Residents and Property Managers – In response to the impacts of Hurricane Irma on South Florida residents, the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) is hosting a Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) event at the BB&T Center on November 7, 8, & 9. This event is expected to draw tens of thousands of people to the area each day. We are expecting heavy vehicular traffic during this time. While this is not a City of Sunrise event, we have coordinated with DCF to provide a significant police presence to ensure that traffic is managed and that we maintain a safe environment for both residents and guests of our city. The Florida Department of Children and Families Services has advertised this event from 7 am to 6 pm on all three days; however, we are expecting and are prepared for increased activity prior to and following the event on all three days. Please share this information as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience as we work together to ensure a smooth and successful event in Sunrise.
