We enjoyed our visit with the students at Primrose School of South Tampa! They asked the most adorable questions šŸ˜ The students wore pink in support of their teacher who is a cancer survivor, and they took pictures with our pink cars.

Update On Two Recent Homicides

If you're downtown today stop by our police headquarters to purchase a refreshing cup of lemonade from our RICH House program kids. You can choose from a variety of fruits or mint to jazz up your lemonade. The kids will use a portion of the proceeds from each $2 cup of lemonade they sell to purchase items for VA hospital patients.

Officer R. Ward and Officer B. Baird responded to the intersection of E 25th Ave / N 29th St for a kitten stuck in a storm drain. Both officers were able to retrieve the kitten out of the drain. The kitten was brought to the Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Service.

The Tampa Police Bike Units assisted with the "White Cane Walk" by the Tampa Lighthouse for the Blind.

Our captains attended the Ruth's Chris Lunch today to show their support for The Spring of Tampa Bay and National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. A portion of the proceeds from each meal will go toward providing programs and servives at The Spring. Shout out to captains Roberts, Y. Flynn, Hutner, Moskowitz, Goodman, Gonzalez, and M. Flynn. Not pictured are captains Johnson, Delgado, Zambito, Stout, and Rodriquez who also attended this special luncheon.

Adventure Island, once again, opened their water park to allow Tampa Bay area law enforcement canine squads a controlled training environment for water related events. Over 50 canine teams participated. It is important for law enforcement K9's to receive exposure to different environments so that when they are put in a real life situation, it isnā€™t their first time.

The intersection is closed at this time and will remain closed until the conclusion of the investigation. Tampa Night Out Dance Off

Last night TPD Squad 209 responded to assist an elderly resident who called for assistance to retrieve her beloved dog, who was in distress and trapped under her shed. Officers arrived and quickly determined the best way to help the trapped dog was to get down and dirty by digging a trench. They were able to successfully rescue "Queenie" and get her safely back into her owners loving arms. #tpdtotherescue #furryfriendsarefamily #randomworkout

'Tampa Night Out' Set to Unite Police and Residents Against Crime

It is with deep sadness that we report that Officer Will Caballero lost his battle with cancer last night. Will was a veteran law enforcement officer; protecting and serving as a Trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol and as a deputy with Osceola County Sheriff's Office before coming to the Tampa Police Department. The Caballero and TPD families extend our deepest gratitude to our community for the love and support you showed Will, his wife, and his children during his courageous battle. Rest easy, Will, we will take your watch from here.
