This morning, #yourMBPD participated in the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project Police and Youth Conference. The 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project is a dropout prevention program for boys in Miami-Dade Schools and involves 5000 adult mentors.

We have joined with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami and began the School to Work Mentoring Program with Miami Beach High school! 18 Miami Beach Police Department Mentors will be working with 11th and 12th graders once a month for the next year and a half. Our "Bigs" got to meet their "Littles" today and we are so excited!

This afternoon MBPD Robbery detectives captured Tyrone Jackson, wanted for the murder of Kamil Patel two weeks ago. Our entire criminal investigations team has worked around the clock to apprehend those responsible for this senseless killing.

Yesterday Miami Beach PD invited chiefs and officers across Miami-Dade to join us for a #UnityBikeRide 🚴‍♂️ through our beautiful city.
