To shave or not to shave? That is the question. In support of breast cancer awareness month, members of Davenport Police Department wanting to put the razor down and grow scruff for the month may do so provided they make a donation to a breast cancer organization. And of course, all members are welcome to make a donation regardless of their ability or desire to grow fuzz. We encourage you too to support breast cancer awareness month in your own way. http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/breast-cancer-awareness-month

HELP PREVENT CRIME – LOCK YOUR VEHICLES! The majority of vehicle break-ins within the City of Davenport have occurred in the driveways or on the street right in front of the victim’s home. Thefts from vehicles would be drastically reduced if citizens would lock their car doors and stop leaving valuables inside their vehicles in plain view. OTHER TIPS: • If you have a garage - use it • Never leave valuable in your car • Close all car windows • Park in a well-lit area • Use outdoor lighting • Avoid parking between large vehicles • Call 911 if you see a crime in progress Note: living in a gated community can give one a false sense of security. Don’t allow that to be you. Regardless of where you are or where you live, ALWAYS LOCK YOUR VEHICLE!
