On December 7, 2017, at approximately 12:00 pm, the white male pictured below, entered the Walmart Sanford - S Orlando Drive, located at 2653 South Orlando Drive, and left the store without paying for a cart full of items. He was wearing a red jacket and white shorts. He is approximately 5`7" and weighs about 150 pounds. Witavivon made threats to harm himself. He was wearing a black shirt, black shorts and red shoes. He is approximately 5`3" and weighs about 110 pounds. Edwards has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and a bipolar disorder. Local #Santa hat wearing #Grinch vandalizes nativity display and steals baby Jesus. Can you help us identify the person who vandalized and stole the baby Jesus from a church’s nativity display? On December 21, 2017 and December 25, 2017, an unidentified white male was captured on video surveillance vandalizing the vinyl nativity display at the LifeWay Community Church, located at 2462 Park Ave. On December 21st, the male used a knife to cut the heads off of nine of the figures and destroy three others. On December 25, it appears that the same male returned wearing a Santa hat. He cut two extension cords before removing the baby Jesus figure from the display and fleeing the area on foot. The nativity display was made of vinyl and custom painted by an artist. It is valued at $3,000. Media Release: (Sanford, FL December 27, 2017): Sanford Police are investigating a fatal Hit and Run just south of Celery Avenue and Mellonville Avenue. On December 27, 2017, at 9:56 am., Sanford Police received a 911emergency call reporting a fatal Hit and Run. Witnesses on scene observed an act of road rage between two vehicles (black Volkswagen Jetta and green Chevrolet Cavalier), located just south of Celery Avenue and Mellonville Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the black Volkswagen Jetta struck a tree. The driver of the black Volkswagen Jetta was identified as Darrius Grooms (26 years old). Sanford Fire Department responded and transported Grooms to the hospital for medical treatment. Darrius Grooms passed away as a result of his injuries. Currently the Sanford Police Department is interviewing a person of interest, who has information about the vehicle crash. This investigation is not linked to the recent homicide that occurred at the intersection of Terry Lane and Scott Drive, or any of the shootings that are still under investigation. On December 27, 2017, at 12:11am., Sanford Police responded to the intersection of Terry Lane and Scott Drive in reference to a shooting with injuries. Officers located a victim, later identified as Lester Inman. Sanford Fire Department provided medical attention to Inman; however, he passed away on scene as result of his injuries. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that Lester Inman was riding his bicycle in the area of Terry Lane, prior to the fatal shooting. This is an ongoing investigation and new information will be provided once it is available.
