As many of you know, we keep it pretty positive on our FB…but we just had to share this one.
On September 28, 2017, Aaron Rogers allegedly beat up his girlfriend leaving her with severe facial injuries. She was transported to the hospital and spent four days there. As our officers responded, Rogers jumped from the second floor and fled the State of Florida. Many of you exchanged Rogers’ picture on FB in an attempt to locate him. The power of social media is an awesome tool.
On January 2, 2018, with the thankful help of Detective William Maxwell of the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, who is assigned to the USMS Florida Caribbean Fugitive Task Force, the USMS Violent Offender Task Force (North Carolina), and the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office, Rogers was found hiding in the basement at “mommy’s house” in Canton, North Carolina.
A big shout out to VCSO Detective Maxwell, the men and women of the United States Marshall Service and the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office, and to Investigator Andrew Wilmot (HHPD). Job well done!
