Congratulations to these young men, members of the Acworth Explorers. Zach Wagoner, Codi Purdy, and Dylan Cunningham were 2nd overall best team at the Metro Atlanta Championship for Explorers. They received almost perfect scores in the area of professionalism. The team won trophies in nothing less than second place for accident investigations, suspicious activity, unknown trouble, and felony traffic stops. Their most achieved award was 2nd place overall out of 22 competing teams! Congratulations on a job well done!

Officer Irvin got to hang out with some sweet kids at The Taste of Acworth. The young man gave her the "beautiful flower for a beautiful lady!" ☺☺☺

If you didn't come out to The Taste of Acworth, you missed a great time! There are plenty of vendors and lots of food! And the weather is perfect. A little overcast and a breeze. Perfect for walking down Main Street!

Welcome Officer Cody Lumpkin! Officer Lumpkin has been a member of the Acworth Police Detention staff for about two years. He recently graduated from the police academy and was sworn in as a member of our patrol staff at the October 5th meeting of the Mayor and Aldermen. He was joined by a host of family to witness and celebrate his accomplishment.

Today, our department and the Tilted Tulip Florist participated in Petal it Forward, a national event in which people nationwide randomly surprise strangers with flowers. Each person received two bouquets — one to keep, and one to share with a friend, family member, co-worker, or even a complete stranger. We had so much fun, and we hope that everyone we saw today has fun petaling it forward!
