The COPs are a group of Sandy Springs volunteers that support SSPD, lending additional eyes, ears, and hands to our community. They patrol businesses, parks, residential areas, assist with traffic control, assist at community events, and provide support to our officers in many other situations 👏🙌 The truck was donated by Cox to the COPs volunteer unit.

We are always looking to make friends while on patrol. Officer Hunt made two friends last weekend at the Sandy Springs Festival.

As the city has grown and changed over the last decade, the logo and brand of the City of Sandy Springs has evolved. This year, the city changed its logo to a more modern and updated motif. Since the SSPD shoulder patch contained the old city logo, it was time for an update of that as well. After much discussion, it was decided that the SSPD brand, the familiar blue diagonal stripe on our cars, inside of headquarters, and on our official stationary, was what citizens most associated with the Sandy Springs Police Department. We were able to create a new shoulder patch that is crisp, sharp, and familiar to the citizens of Sandy Springs and the surrounding metropolitan area.
